The Oscar Peterson International Jazz Festival
"The OPIJF stands poised to become one of Canada’s most anticipated winter music events, and we are fortunate to have the magnificent Niagara wine region be our host. Just like the many, individual elements that contribute to the production of a signature bottle of wine, our one of a kind artist line-ups, featuring the best of both Canadian and American performers, are creating truly memorable listening experiences for all!"
- Renee Rosnes, OPIJF Artistic Director
As the world’s first (and only!) jazz festival bearing the name of Canada’s greatest jazz artist, it will honour and celebrate his legacy of excellence. This festival is not intended to simply present concerts in tribute to Oscar Peterson, but rather to truly present jazz, showcasing the rich history and the future of the music Oscar loved.
August 15, 2017 marked the 92nd anniversary of the birth of Canadian jazz legend Oscar Peterson. To honour this significant day, the Oscar Peterson International Jazz Festival announced TD Bank as the Festival’s Presenting Sponsor.
